It is famous for its massive frescoed wall the masterpiece fresco of the Passion and Crucifixion of Christ (1529–1532) by Bernardino Luini, a disciple of Leonardo da Vinci and a master of the Lombard Renaissance.

And there are beautiful 17th-century frescoes by the Valsolda Pozzi brothers depict St Roch’s life, along with scenes of Christ in Glory and the Nativity cycle in the dedicated chapel .
