This independent Mount Rigi tour from Lucerne combines a round-trip boat cruise, cogwheel railway ride and aerial cable car ride for an epic Swiss Alps adventure. Cruise along stunning Lake Lucerne and take a train up Rigi Kulm, the ‘Queen of the Mountains,’ for majestic views of the Bernese Alps, Vosges Montains and Black Forest. Take an aerial cable car to the postcard-worthy lakeside town of Weggis, and end with a return boat cruise to Lucerne. With convenient pre-booked tickets and detailed timetables, you’ll experience the breathtaking Alps at your own pace. Please note: from16 to 27 November 2026 the cable car from Rigi Kaltbad to Weggis is not operating due to maintenance work. During this time The excursion to Rigi will be made via Vitznau for both the outbound and return journeys.

An amazing view, if you can figure out how to get there
The views atop Mount Rigi were breathtaking and the tour was well worth the price. However, I’m giving it a 4 star because the self guided tour lacked very basic instructions and the organizer was non-responsive when I reached out for clarification. The cable car wasn’t working the day we went but the train can still take you all the way, and as I said, the views were amazing! The ferry ride was nice, but again, the instructions regarding which stop to get off/on weren’t clear.

The cruise, railway, mountaintop, and cable car were all great. It would have been nice to have a little more information about front about tickets and time options, but otherwise a great day!

Great Tour in Lcerne mit Fondue Chinoise Schiff.
We went ona 2 1/2 hrs cruise with the Fondue Chinoise Boat.We wehere greeted very friendly on to a nicly set table. Starting with a nice Salad followed by a table with freshly prepared Vegetable and of course the Fondue Chinoise Sauces all very tasty. The meet and broth was waiting to start the feast. Meet was Turky, Lamb,Pork and Beef. All in all a lovely evening with wonderfull views of Luzern.

Nice Excursion
This was a really nice excursion. Easy to find the boat, followed the time schedule. The train was right there. Really enjoyed Mt Rigi. Walked back down to the next station and caught the train to the Rigi Karlstad and down the cable car down. That was a little disappointing as being so many people crammed in the cable car.

1st Class Scam
This is one of the more dishonest travel services I've used. You walk on and there are all of these open seats on the top deck, so we walk up. The way they have you routed to the stairs you don't really notice a small sign on the wall as you round the corner that class something like Class I. Keep in mind you are not looking directly at the sign as you climb the stairs, it's only visible if you look behind you, and even then it's not obvious that first class only is on the top deck. Then the ticket-master goes around and acts like you are an idiot if you didn't know that the top deck was ONLY for first class. At this point the limited seats in the common-folk region on the lower deck are non-existent. Its all a deliberate strategy that they use to force you to upgrade to first class. I don't think I've ever seen such a blatant scam in all of the travelling we have done, it's a disgrace. Even in first class, it's not exactly luxury sailing. Think more of how many people they can cram into one deck, it sucked.
