Overview

Mt. Pilatus & Mt. Rigi - if you only have one day in Lucerne and can't decide which mountain do go up, why not choose them both? Our "Two Peaks in One Day" private tour enables you to experience the best of both mountains in one day. Start with Mt Rigi and its stunning 360-degree views of the surrounding Alps; visit an artisan alpine cheese-maker and walk a panoramic ridge route with views over 3 lakes.  Relax with a picnic lunch on a scenic boat cruise before ascending to the top of Mt. Pilatus by gondola and “Dragon Ride” cableway.  Return to lake level on the world’s steepest cogwheel train ride and then a quick and easy train ride back to Lucerne. Please note in winter, there may be a change in the cruise itinerary due to weather conditions. In such cases, the tour may be replaced with an equally enchanting train journey, ensuring you still experience the charm of the city. Private tour with an expert local English-speaking guide.

    A Dream Come True

Our first official exploration in Luzern was everything we hoped for and more! Our guide, Leo was prompt, kind, filled with experience and knowledge and above all made sure we received the best experiences and views. It is one of those tours that you do not have to think about logistics, transportation or what is the best routes because all is prepared perfectly. Leo and his team exceeded our biggest dreams of hiking the alps, understanding the history of Luzern, being transported by 100 yr old coach train, 140 yr old cogwheel, a gorgeous boat ride and the perfect views by cable cars. Highly recommend!

Ten day Echo Tour in Switzerland

We did the 10 day rail tour. It was excellent. We saw major attractions and the exceptional Bernini Express and Glacier Express. The guides provided for three days were just great.

    Incredible Honeymoon

What an unbelievable experience we had in Lucerne! The scenery was breathtaking and we were so thankful to our guide, Walter Di Liberto, who is a local and is very knowledgeable about the area. We are especially thankful to him for taking extra time on our meet & greet day to start our tour. He had looked ahead at the next day’s inclement weather forecast and asked if we might prefer to do half of our tour that day and save the rest for the morning of the scheduled day. We are so glad we did! He also went out of his way to make us feel welcomed with suggestions of things to do with our time alone.

2 mountains in one day can be done

Alexandra was a delightful guide. She showed us the different modes of transportation including the Cogwheel trains. She took us up Mt Rigi. There we visited a genuine cheese factory and had an artisanal lunch. We hiked the mountain and kissed the cows. We also experienced the top of Mt Pilatus and a boat ride across Lake Lucerne. Alexandra was knowledgeable, friendly, and efficient. She was very patient with me climbing up and down mountains since I had limited energy. I highly recommend her for any future tours to anyone.

    Adventure is an Open Book

Leo was the perfect guide. We wanted something different, and this activity delivered. The peaks on Mt. Riigi and Mt. Pilatus are intended for scenic views. We had none, but the transport and walking made for a fun adventure anyway. There was snow, and clouds, and icicles, and the great accompaniment of Leo. We learned a lot about our surroundings, and enjoyed a very fun day of exploration, just minus the views. That's the beauty of an adventure. You never know what it will bring.

Full day fun and active adventure

Madeleine did a great job leading our hike and tour for our small group of 5. The hike was beautiful and appropriately strenuous for people who exercise fairly regularly. We stopped for a nice lunch and rode the gondola up to Mt Pilatus. Unfortunately the cog wheel train was out of order, so we had to take the gondola all the way to the bottom and a bus back to town.
