The UNESCO World Heritage route of the Bernina Express offers an unforgettable experience as the train climbs to an altitude of 2,253 metres on the Bernina Pass, one of the highest points reached by a railway in Europe. • From late October to late February, visibility of the landscape from the train windows may be reduced in the afternoon due to earlier sunset times. That said, the scenery and the train journey are extraordinary in every season.
• Comfortable walking shoes recommended. Weather in the Alps can change quickly — bring a light layer.
