This tour takes you on a journey to the east of the country and experience a beautiful area little touched by international tourism. Visit Appenzell with it`s colourful facades before heading to the tiny mountain principality of Liechtenstein, mainly just to say you have been. Some highlights Mt Santis & Hoher Kasten Appenzell Cheese Dairy Maestrani Chocolate Factory Liechtenstein Longest covered bridge in Europe over Rhine A MORE DETAILED LOOK The drive takes us along the Sihlbrugg pass and across Zürichsee to Rapperswil with its medieval castle. We journey onto Mt Säntis where from a peak of 2502 metres, one can see Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, France and Italy (on a clear day). This is the highest point in the region. After this we journey onto to the green and hilly region of Appenzell where one can stroll through the quaint pedestrian zone with it`s painted wooden houses, before heading back to Luzern, popping into Vaduz in Liechtenstein on the way back.

Stroll round one of Switzerland`s oldest villages full of centuries old wooden houses with colourful facades.

Cross the river Rhine and drive into Liechtenstein and take a walk along the main street in the Capital Vaduz. Visit the post office to have your passport stamped.

Visit the famous Maestrani chocolate factory and see how many famous Swiss brands are produced and naturally taste the delicious chocolate

Take a trip up one of the most interesting mountains in Hoher Kasten which will take you up 1794 meters for breath-taking views of Appenzell, Liechtenstein, Austria and Germany. Have a bite to eat at the revolving restaurant and for sure take some super pictures here

Quick day getaway - East Switzerland
Chris was very accomodating with our requests on where to visit on our day trip with him. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable day seeing Appenzelle and Hoher Kasten in Switzerland.

A first taste of Switzerland
Chris our guide contacted us a couple of days in advance of our arrival to introduce himself and make sure he knew what we wanted to do! We had a great tour of St Gallen as well as a hike above Appenzell and beyond! We appreciated all Chris’ insights and advice.

Extraordinary experience!
What an amazing day! We could not have been luckier than being paired with Chris Wilson of Typically Swiss Tours (typicallyswisstours.com). From his very first question, we knew we had an expert behind the wheel. Rather than just follow some predetermined route, he asked what WE wanted to see. After telling him what we had done already, he suggested what turned out to be a PERFECT day trip. And at each location, he even was able to suggest how to best spend our time. His deep experience, knowledge, and easy-going personality were so much more than we expected. He went above and beyond all day long. We cannot recommend him highly enough! Totally awesome Chris! In Appenzel & Lichtenstein
We had the absolute pleasure of touring with Chris from Typically Swiss Tours, and we cannot recommend him highly enough! From the very first message to the final drop-off, Chris was exceptionally communicative, professional, and personable. He truly hand-held the entire process, making booking easy and the tour seamless from start to finish. Splendid, Immersive,and Wow - a special mention and high five to our Friend and Guide Chris for making this memorable.
The trip was so wonderful and immersive that it was our highlight of the Swiss trip. Our friend and guide Chris was more of one of us than a guide and knowledgeable in this part of Swiss. In short the tour was SPLENDID AND WOW.
