Interlaken isn’t photogenic.
Interlaken and photogenic should not be in the same sentence. We saw the park, which was simply a grass field where the paragliders land every 5 minutes. Then we walked to the church. It was not representative of what Catholic Churches usually are. When we asked our guide Theadora about it. She had no idea. Then we saw a very small Japanese garden with a dead fish in it. Saw the river which is very pretty and then we were done. Honestly, we left Interlaken after this tour and disappointing accommodations. So many other small picturesque places to visit. I’d skip Interlaken all together. It has no personality. As our guide told us, they have cows (so loud and in the park), paragliding (20 minute ride) and mountains. She only could recommend one restaurant to us.

Interlaken from a local perspective
Marta led us to historic sites, cultural novelties, and off beaten trails from river to lake to posh neighborhood walking trails! What an experience with unforgettable views. We were quite hungry after our walk (though she shared some delicious Swiss crackers she had with her) and she brought us to her young family’s favorite local restaurant (The Steadstrausser?) in the”old” part of town. Perfect end to a great visit thanks to Marta!

Interlaken tour with Sandra
Sandra gave us a memorable, personalized tour of Interlaken that set us up to visit some other spots the rest of our time there. We appreciated her insight and stories of this wonderful town. We would highly recommend her.

If you are traveling to Interlaken, definitely take this tour!
Melinda was an excellent tour guide. She gave us a great background on Interlaken and the surrounding area. We really enjoyed seeing the local "photogenic" spots. She also gave us a better understanding of the Swiss people and culture. We would definitely recommend taking a tour of this quaint little city.

Fully Recommended
Super well explained, the guide is local, speaks a little Spanish, however it would be great to have a guide who speaks it full on the tour, as you want it was very interesting and super good photos and views of you can get. Thank you so much!
