The University Clinic for Dermatology has an inpatient department and a large outpatient clinic with numerous specialist consultations, including a skin tumor center and surgery. Dermatopathology, as the link between diagnostics, treatment, teaching, and research, represents a strategically important medical focus of the clinic. What you can expect Close teamwork among dermatopathologists/ pathologists and with clinicians. Independent diagnostics across the spectrum of dermatopathology. Weekly presentation of histological specimens during internal clinicopathological discussions and exchange with tumor boards. Continuous improvement of performance and provided service. Initiation and support of research projects within dermatopathology. Participation in teaching, continuing education and professional development. Your Profile Board-certified dermatologist with completed subspecialty training in dermatopathology, or board-certified pathologist with expertise in dermatopathology. Diploma in Dermatopathology (ICDP - UEMS International Board Certification in Dermatopathology) or aquiration in the near future. Responsibility for providing high-quality dermatopathology. Application of molecular pathological diagnostics to solve dermatological and dermatopediatric requests. Interest in academic dermatology. You communicate confidently in German. Knowledge of French is of advantage. What we offer Accredited dermatopathology laboratory processing and evaluating over 20,000 skin biopsy specimens and excisions annually, including paraffin-fixed material, frozen sections (Mohs surgery), and a broad range of ancillary stains. Close collaboration with the Institute of Pathology, University of Bern, with access to comprehensive molecular diagnostics via the Clinical Genomics Laboratory at Inselspital.
