The Image Processing Engineer is a technical contributor within the Machine-Readable Features Laboratory, supporting the development, integration, validation, and optimization of image processing and computer vision algorithms used in machine-readable authentication and traceability systems. The role covers a broad range of technologies including image analysis, machine vision, computer vision, optical sensing, signal processing, and machine learning techniques applied to advanced security features. The position combines algorithm development, software implementation, data analysis, system integration, and experimental validation in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams including optics, electronics, chemistry, software engineering, and data science. This position is well suited for an engineer seeking to build deep expertise in image processing, industrial machine vision, and authentication technologies, while contributing to innovative security solutions from concept through industrial deployment. ROLE Develop, implement, and optimize image processing and computer vision algorithms for machine-readable authentication systems. Design and evaluate algorithms for feature detection, classification, segmentation, pattern recognition, and image enhancement. Analyze large image datasets to extract meaningful information and improve feature detectability and robustness. Support the development of algorithms for optical inspection, authentication, traceability, and quality control applications. Collaborate with optics, electronics, and software teams to integrate image processing solutions into embedded and industrial systems. Perform experimental testing, validation, and benchmarking of algorithms under varying operational and environmental conditions. Document algorithms, test results, and technical studies through reports, specifications, and presentations. Contribute to technology scouting, literature reviews, and the evaluation of emerging image processing and computer vision technologies. Actively collaborate within multidisciplinary project teams composed of scientists, chemists, optics engineers, electronics engineers, and software developers. PROFILE Education & Experience Master’s degree in Computer Vision, Image Processing, or equivalent. Relevant experience in the specific field. Technical Skills Strong knowledge of image processing and computer vision techniques. Experience with and/or C/C++ for algorithm development and optimization. Proficient in AI-powered image processing, object detection, segmentation, OCR, and computer vision using PyTorch, OpenCV, YOLO, and multimodal LLM understanding of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques applied to image analysis and pattern recognition. Experience developing, training, validating, and deploying deep learning models for image classification, object detection, segmentation, feature extraction, and anomaly detection. Comfortable using data analysis and visualization tools for algorithm evaluation and reporting. Personal Skills Curious, motivated, and eager to develop deep technical expertise. Strong analytical and problem‑solving mindset. Increasingly autonomous, with the ability to manage laboratory tasks with limited supervision. Reliable, structured, and quality‑oriented.
